Projection Rejection

Concept 1- Here, I centered my design around the benefits of the preexisting 'Dalek'. Some features that carried over to my new design included the security feature, the storage space, and the all-in-one aspect. I found that with this concept, it was far too similar to the original projector unit and I wanted to create an emphasis on ergonomics and portability.

  • Storage
  • Security
  • All-in-one
  • But too similar to existing unit

Concept 2- This concept was based on the idea of portability in conjunction with the all in one aspect. The idea was developed using the inspiration of a sandwich board and how portable they are. The all-in-one aspect is beneficial but the way I incorporated the technical aspects on the top of the unit could potentially cause failure in the future. Re-evaluating the way the technical components could be incorporated would be the next step.

  • Portability
  • All-in-one
  • Ergonomic

Concept 3- In this design, I wanted to achieve a portable and adjustable projector unit. The idea originally developed from adjustable plastic bookshelves and a rolling luggage case. I thought that it would be helpful if the Portable projector unit collapsed into a case that could easily be rolled around. After another assessment of the design, it became clear that the sturdiness of the projector unit would not be sufficient enough for the technical components on top and it would most likely fail.

  • Adjustability
  • Portability
